We’ve received so many messages asking about Teddy, and we truly appreciate all the love and concern. So here’s a full update to answer the big question:
Why did Teddy come to the hospital?
It all started a few days ago when Teddy began acting differently. At first, it was subtle. He was a little quieter than usual and didn’t rush to greet us at the door. Normally, Teddy is full of energy—tail wagging, eyes bright—but something felt off.
Then came the signs we couldn’t ignore.
Teddy didn’t want to eat. Not even his favorite treats could get his attention. He spent most of his time lying down, and when he tried to move, he seemed uncomfortable. Roo tried to cheer him up, bringing toys and nudging him to play, but Teddy barely responded.
That’s when we knew it was serious.
We took him to the hospital right away.
At the clinic, the vets carefully examined him. They checked his temperature, listened to his heartbeat, and gently pressed on his stomach. Teddy showed signs of pain, especially around his abdomen, which immediately raised concern.
The vet recommended running tests to understand what was happening.
After blood work and imaging, we finally got some answers. Teddy had developed a stomach issue—likely caused by something he ate that didn’t agree with him or irritated his system. It wasn’t something we could see from the outside, but it was enough to make him feel very unwell.
Because of his condition, the vets decided it would be best to keep Teddy at the hospital for observation.
Hearing that was tough.
Leaving Teddy behind, even for a short time, felt incredibly heavy. The house didn’t feel the same without him. Roo was quieter too, as if she understood that something wasn’t right.
But we knew he was in good hands.
The veterinary team monitored him closely, giving him fluids to keep him hydrated and medication to help with the discomfort. Slowly, little signs of improvement began to appear.
We got updates that he had started to lift his head more, respond to voices, and even show a tiny bit of his usual personality.
When we were finally able to visit him, it meant everything.
Teddy looked tired, but when he saw us, his eyes softened, and his tail gave a small wag. It wasn’t his usual excited greeting, but it was enough to remind us that he was still fighting and getting stronger.
Now, Teddy is on the road to recovery.
He’s still being monitored, but he’s improving each day. The experience has reminded us how quickly things can change and how important it is to pay attention to even the smallest changes in our pets’ behavior.
