Archie has never really been the type to latch onto toys. You know how some dogs pick a favorite stuffed animal and carry it everywhere like it’s their emotional support buddy? Yeah… that’s never been him. He’d sniff a toy, maybe chew it for a minute, and then move on like, “Cool. Next.” The toy bin could be overflowing and he’d still act completely unbothered.
But then… the fish happened. 🐟😂

We randomly got him one of those little fish toys, not thinking much of it. Just another addition to the pile. The moment he saw it though? Something clicked. It was like he had finally found his thing. His eyes lit up, he grabbed it immediately, and from that day on, the fish became the toy.
Now, every single time he wants to play, he doesn’t just grab the first thing he sees. Oh no. He becomes a determined little treasure hunter. He will stick his whole face into the toy bin, pushing everything aside, digging with his paws, tossing toys over his shoulder dramatically, all just to find that one specific fish. It doesn’t matter if there are ten other toys sitting right on top — he wants his fish and nothing else will do.

And when he finally finds it? The way he picks it up is the cutest thing ever. He carries it so proudly, head slightly lifted, tail wagging like he just won a prize. He’ll walk around the house with it like he’s showing it off, occasionally glancing at us as if to say, “Look what I got!” 🐾💙

It honestly melts me every time. There’s something so pure about seeing him so attached to something so simple. The little prance in his step, the soft grip he uses so he doesn’t drop it, the way he refuses to trade it for anything else — it’s all just so him.
Who knew a simple fish toy would unlock this whole new side of Archie? Now we just make sure there’s always at least one fish in the house… because apparently, that’s his thing. 🐟😂
